Meeting Information
Meadowlark meetings, whether mounted or unmounted, are always educational. Members should come prepared to learn something new. Pony Club is about shaping members into confident, well-rounded human beings which is why the organization upholds certain standards. The following lists will give you a guideline of what is needed at various meetings. For newer members, make a list of these items to hang in your room or trailer so that you won't forget some important items. The following is recommended for unmounted meetings:
- Dress: Khaki pants, polo shirt (or shirt with collar), Pony Club Pin, Barn Boots (Paddock Boots)
- Equipment: Pony Club Manual, Pony Club binder,
pen or pencil, hair band for tying back long hair.
The following is recommended for mounted meetings:
- Dress: Riding pants, riding boots (with heel and sole must be flat - no waffle), belt (if pants have belt loop), Pony Club Pin, hair band for tying back long hair
- ASTM/SEI Certified Helmet
- Halter and Lead Rope
- Saddle with saddle pad
- Bridle
- Water bucket
- Hay in haynet
- Snaps or something to hang haynet and water bucket
- Horse Grooming Kit
- Manure fork or shovel, manure bucket
Meetings are held at various locations, depending on the type of activity. These activities can include unmounted horse management lessons, games, jumping clinics, cross-country schoolings, trail rides, polo lessons, dressage clinics, parties, and much more. When the local club isn't meeting, Pony Club offers regional activities such as rallies, clinics, and camps.
